Fab 5 Friday for the Week Ending July 19th...
It's that time once again...Fab 5 Friday! Because we have a busy Friday planned tomorrow I am publishing it tonight...as the author and publisher - I have this ability. Without further adieu..here it is!
1. Grandparents. Blaine's parents arrived late last week...and the boys were in heaven. Lots of spoiling going on - many yummy meals, lots of fishing, and mini-golf! What more could you ask for!
2. Good WODs. So I've decided that the local CrossFit box is run by a bunch of imbeciles (so much for fostering that community spirit), but it doesn't mean I haven't been working out. I've been hitting the Y on a regular basis and while I haven't had my hands on a barbell since I left KL (oh, how I miss thee, but the guys and girls who want to do their half squats can hog the rack...it's okay...I won't let my 9 year-old come show you how to squat...), kettlebells have become my weapon of choice - along with med balls and the rower. I'm completely capable of kicking my own ass and have been doing a right fine job!
3. Good Food. And thank God I've been kicking my own ass as we have enjoyed Massie's, Harvest, Five Guys, and Martha's this week. Yup...worth every damn calorie.
4. Shopping. I continue to shop. I really should be finished, but I just keep finding a few more things that I need. (Please note that I said "need" vs. "want." Hahahah!)
5. Go-Carts. Mom and I took the boys on the go-carts today! Totally a fun time. I had Caleb and Grayson was with Nana...and I'll give it to Nana - she hung right with us. We tried to lose her, but to no avail.
Oh, and a special shout-out to John in Wisconsin who mailed a 12-pack of Spotted Cow to us in New York! LOVE IT!!

And, thank you to everyone who has sent us messages to make sure we were still in the States after the MH17 incident/crash/act of terrorism. We are safe and sound and we currently believe our friends from KL are all safe. But, that is a popular flight from Amsterdam...and truly a scary situation. RIP passengers and crew of MH17.
All right...the Klutts' family rolls into town this weekend. Hoping for good weather, good food, good drink and lots of laughs! If Cards Against Humanity doesn't bring the laughs - then nothing can!

Fab 5 Friday...
Greetings and salutations from Glen Lake! It's time for the weekly edition of Fab 5 Friday. This week's sponsor is Mike's Hard Lemonade...because I've been drinking a lot of them this week and will give them some recognition as they have helped me to enjoy the cooler weather and the great view from my deck.
Okay...let's get after it!
1. 4th of July. It was a relaxing 4th of July...filled with fishing, swimming, lobster and fireworks - all without leaving our summer house.

2. Blaine Arrives. YAY! He made it here from Malaysia...only to quickly make a trip to Minneapolis for work. But, we were all happy to have him here and managed to get in a Harvest pizza dinner and a quick trip to Dirt Dogs (because we all know that home leave is all about the food!).
3. Picnic with the Queensbury Crew. Last Sunday we got together with some of the folks I graduated high school with and their families. What a great Sunday afternoon! I loved the easy conversation - even after the passing of several years - and how well all the kids got along - like they were old friends. I took more photos - but cannot currently find my camera cord - so thank you Cheri for sharing the ones you took. The Mornhinweg crew is missing from photos, but they were there - and I hope we can do it again next summer!
4. Breakfast Dates. As Blaine was traveling this week, it left me with a little more one-on-one time with the kiddos...including a couple of breakfast dates at Panera. The conversations cracked me up and I have to say what fun they've been the last couple of weeks (with minimal fighting).
5. The Mom Taxi. The kids had soccer camp this week...and Caleb had baseball and both boys participated in the summer track series...and along with all the other running around for me and Blaine - my taxi services have been in high demand. But, love how both kids have joined in some local activities and I appreciate the easy driving compared to KL.
Okay...that's all we've got. Blaine's parents have arrived and the boys are thrilled to see their grandparents from Oklahoma - I'm sure it will be a fun week for them!!

Fab 5 Friday...
Hey peeps! I think Fab 5 Fridays will be my only blog entries for the summer...I'll be back with more in August when we return to KL. For now, Fridays it is!
This week's Fab 5:
1. Grayson's Birthday. Yes, this child has celebrated his birthday 3 times...birthday overload. But, he had a blast with his family celebration: mini-golf, laser tag, Martha's ice cream, Harvest pizza and brownie fudge sundaes. Yup, definitely a Grayson birthday all the way!
2. The Lake House. We moved into our house on Glen Lake last Saturday...and it's fabulous. Lots of space, a deck, a dock, a gas grill...everything we need for the summer. The kids are in fishing heaven...and that's all that matters. It will be a very enjoyable summer here with family and friends.
3. The Great Escape. Yes, I returned to my old place of employment this past week. I can't tell you how many summers I worked there...although, I believe it was 14. Anyways, they had a blast! The rides and the water park were a hit - so it was probably worth the investment in a season's pass.

4. Baseball. Caleb started his private coaching this week...and he loves it. He's working on his pitching(along with other things), in hopes that he can help his team in Malaysia this year. His coach is good and Caleb appreciates the one-on-one attention. He's attentive and really listens to his coach which makes it worthwhile.
5. Blaine. Blaine arrives Saturday morning! All I can say is that we'll all be happy to see him!
We hope everyone haves a fun and safe 4th of July - if you're celebrating! I know we'll be celebrating here on the lake! Looking forward to bbq'ing and watching some fireworks!
